The Telecommunications Marketplace is open for business
7 September 2020
The new Telecommunications Marketplace launches with 11 categories. The marketplace replaces and expands on the Mobile and Telecommunications Services panels, making it easier for buyers and sellers to do business together.
For buyers
The marketplace launch improves the way government buys digital products and services. We worked closely with buyers to understand the types of telecommunications products and services they wanted to buy.
Government buyers can use the Telecommunications Marketplace to buy products and services, including:
- data carriage services
- internet carriage services
- fixed line voice carriage services
- managed network services
- unified communications services
- managed voice services
- dark fibre services
- contact centre systems
- enterprise mobility services
- satellite services
- managed router services.
For sellers
We also engaged sellers through a discussion paper and one-on-one meetings to gain a better understanding of their offerings and the direction of the market. The initial list of sellers is on AusTender, and new sellers will be added as they are onboarded.
"The new Telecommunications Marketplace delivers a service that helps agencies to continue their digital transformation. It will be launched through the ICT Procurement Portal with new functions to make buying and selling even easier, and will be the go-to platform for selling telecommunications to government."
Lucy Poole, General Manager of the Sourcing and Enabling Division at the DTA.
Thank you to the buyers and sellers who provided feedback throughout the development process of the new Telecommunications Marketplace.
