Now open: New network categories on the Hardware Marketplace

11 February 2019

Today we have released 2 new categories on the Hardware Marketplace, Network Equipment and Network Cabling Services.

This launch follows a successful request for tender for the categories, which closed on 15 November 2018. Thank you to everyone who provided input and helped shape the documents.

These 2 new categories provide a platform for government to buy cabling services and products like wireless routers, network switches and firewalls.

The Hardware Marketplace replaced several expired ICT procurement panels when it launched in September 2018, making it easier for businesses to sell ICT hardware to government, and for government to buy from them.

Categories are being iteratively released on the marketplace. In the coming weeks we will release the request for tender for the new End User Devices and Enterprise Computing category through AusTender. When it opens in mid-2019, government agencies will need to access this new category to buy laptops, desktops, and monitors.

The next categories that we will release for feedback will cover tablets, audio visual, mobile phones and mobile carriage. We expect to release the draft requirements for these through AusTender in late February.
