New categories on the Hardware Marketplace now open for feedback

11 December 2018

We have released a request for information for 2 upcoming categories of the Hardware Marketplace, End User Devices and Enterprise Computing.

The categories are available for industry and government feedback on AusTender until 18 January 2019. This will be followed by an approach to market through AusTender in late February 2019. You can register on AusTender to receive relevant alerts as they are published.

When it opens next year, government agencies will need to access the new End User Devices category to buy laptops, desktops, and monitors. They may also choose to use the Enterprise Computing category to buy servers and server racks.

The approach to market for the previous 2 categories of the Hardware Marketplace, Networking Equipment and Cabling Services, closed on 15 November 2018. Tender evaluations are proceeding well and we expect to begin admitting sellers to these categories during December 2018. These categories will provide a platform for government to buy cabling services and products like wireless routers, network switches and firewalls.

The Hardware Marketplace replaced several expired ICT procurement panels when it launched in September 2018, making it easier for businesses to sell ICT hardware to government, and for government buyers to buy from them. We have been releasing categories iteratively and our next categories will cover tablets, audio visual, mobile phones and mobile carriage. We will have more information on this in early 2019.
