Government agencies to benefit from new agreement with AWS
27 June 2019
A new whole-of-government volume sourcing agreement has been established with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The DTA continues to expand whole-of-government volume sourcing agreements with suppliers to ensure government has access to the best pricing, terms and conditions, with Amazon Web Services (AWS) the latest supplier to sign up.
The agreement will simplify the procurement process for government agencies, bringing significant cost savings from a strengthened and consistent set of pre‑negotiated terms and conditions for all users.
The new agreement will give government agencies better value for money and increased flexibility when sourcing commonly used cloud and professional services from AWS. It will also facilitate capability uplift across government through coordinated access to AWS Enterprise Support and access to information sessions, led by the DTA.
For non-corporate Commonwealth entities already purchasing services from AWS, existing contracts will be transitioned to the new agreement and new contracts will be made under the whole-of-government agreement. The agreement is also able to be used by all other government agencies, including state and territory governments.
This coordinated approach to digital sourcing will make it simpler, faster and easier for agencies to buy technology, drive innovation and get more value out of their investments.
